“The fundamental challenges inside Orbia itself is that we basically, in a day to day, lack any type of communication to our users in the plants itself,” Westerveld explained. “We have eight thousand users, in our plants throughout the world, which are disconnected from information.”

Raymond noted that they relied on disparate methods, including old-fashioned pinboards in some locations, and a dizzying number of different digital tools in others. “We had some legacy systems... in total, there were nine different solutions,” he said. The result was screens showing outdated, unhelpful information, largely because “people found it too hard to update that type of information.”

“It’s benefited Orbia and its employees more of improving the communications means. We really have a lack of communication to eight thousand employees today,” Westerveld observed.

It’s more professional than old fashioned poster on the wall, and it gives you more some space of easy to issue,” Raymond stated.

Furthermore, content publication became nearly instantaneous, transforming a time-consuming physical process into a quick digital task. “You don’t have to walk through the entire plant, to put something on the wall. Now you all you have to do is sit behind your computer, go to the online portal, drop the content online, and hit the publish button, and you’re done.”
