ScreenCloud QA Team Win at European Software Testing Awards 2025

It’s an exciting time at ScreenCloud. We were recently honored to receive a Highly Commended designation for "Most Innovative Project" at the European Software Testing Awards. This recognition celebrates the successful development of our internal, AI-powered Quality Assurance (QA) assistant and visual test management system.

While the award acknowledges the incredible talent of our team, this project is much more than just a trophy, it’s a powerful validation of our commitment to engineering excellence and continuous innovation, all supporting our goal of delivering a high-quality, reliable screen management platform.

This award also comes on the back of a busy year at ScreenCloud, with our Customer Support team also being recognized for excellence at the CCNNI awards, as well as a win at the Great British Industry Awards.

The Problem We Solved: Visibility and Efficiency

Like any rapidly scaling software company, we faced a challenge: how do we maintain tight quality standards across diverse applications, codebases, and development tools without sacrificing speed?

Our solution was ambitious: to integrate Artificial Intelligence into the core of our QA process. The goal was to make automation coverage easier to understand, connect test results across different environments, and use AI to make test planning smarter.

The AI-Powered QA Assistant

The heart of the project is our internal, AI-powered QA assistant. This tool is designed to elevate our team's efficiency and coverage. Our Senior QA Engineer, Chris Scullion, explains the core functionality:

“The AI assistant takes in context, analyses the screenshots we upload, and generates test plans, structured test cases, and even automation tests. This helps us work more efficiently and cover as many areas as possible”.

Essentially, this speeds up the crucial but time-consuming aspects of quality assurance, freeing up our engineers to focus on more complex, strategic issues.

Bringing QA Out of the Silos and Onto the Screens

The second, and perhaps most innovative, part of this project leverages our own digital signage product to create instant team alignment.

We built a full QA reporting suite where every test run feeds into a custom visual test management dashboard. But instead of keeping that data buried in internal systems, we use ScreenCloud screens throughout our office to broadcast live, up-to-date results after each run.

This means that both the QA and development teams get immediate visibility into any failures. This shared, instant information is key to strengthening the product through tighter alignment between QA and development. It also gives us a foundation for trend analysis to highlight exactly where we need more coverage or where development may be producing more bugs.

A Testament to Talent and Creativity

As our CEO, Mark McDermott, noted, this project was delivered by a small, dedicated team who "delivered something ambitious while juggling their day jobs, brought a ton of creativity to it, and pushed our quality standards to a new level".

The system has already proven its ability to help us catch regressions before they reach production. This award validates our team’s dedication and ingenuity, and we are incredibly optimistic about what this new AI-enabled platform will allow us to achieve next.
