Meet the Makers is where we introduce you to the people behind ScreenCloud. This month, it’s Paddy La Torre, our VP of Partnerships. Paddy works with the platforms and consultancies that connect to ScreenCloud, like Unily and Optimum, and with our customer success team to help shared customers get more from both.

We talked about how she ended up in partnerships without planning to, how the role has changed since she started, what she’s most excited about this year, and why teleporting tops her wish list.

Q: How did you first get into partnerships, and was it planned?

A: "Not planned, but it makes sense looking back. I’ve always liked meeting new faces and understanding how different cultures work together and what motivates them.
I studied politics and business, and partnerships turned out to be a good mix of the people side and the commercial side. I think I was meant to end up here, weirdly."

Q: How have partnerships changed since you started your career?
A: "I actually think the role has grown up a lot. When I started, partnerships were mostly seen as a way to bring in revenue. Now it touches way more of the business, and at ScreenCloud that’s really noticeable. One day I’m with a partner’s product team; the next I’m helping a CSM work out how to get more from a shared customer. No two days are the same, and honestly that’s what keeps me hooked."

Q: What are you most excited about in partnerships this year?
A: "Personally, I’m excited to expand our footprint. For me that’s two things: bringing in new partners and helping customers get more out of the ones we already work with."

Q: If you could instantly master one skill, what would you pick?
A: "Teleporting. Anyone who’s taken the London tube in summer will agree."

Q: What’s your go-to karaoke song?
A: "Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi."
